GIVEAWAY GOODNESS: {Milkmakers!!!}

*****THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED*****

The last thing us breastfeeding moms need to worry about is whether we have a sufficient milk supply. That's why I couldn't have been more excited when I found these oh-so special cookies from milkmakers. These delicious and nutritious oatmeal chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin dairy free cookies help to boost mom's milk supply. And Milkmakers is so generous that they are offering you, the Milk-Friendly readers, a special giveaway!

Created by Emily, a new mom who struggled to keep her milk supply up after she returned to work. She tried other lactation remedies but since she was on-the-go, it was hard to find an easy and efficient way to provide enough milk for her new daughter. That is when Emily decided to tap into her family's long line of talented bakers.

 In the kitchen, she experimented with different recipes and worked with a nutritionist until she finally created something magical. "The immediate increase in my milk supply was so effortless that I became determined to make these cookies available to all moms."

 The key ingredients of milkmakers cookies include oats, brewer's yeast and flax seed. All of which can be eaten if you are not nursing. And don't you worry Dad, you can eat them too!
Their flavor choices are oatmeal chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin dairy free and their variety pack including both.

MORE MILK PLEASE! =)
Postpartum mamas need nursing support for SO many reasons! Here are a few off the top of my head: 1. First time mamas have enough to worry about and are easily overwhelmed..."is my baby getting enough to eat?" They need support and reassurance from lactation consultants or experienced mamas (preferably in the home) as often as needed
2. Supplementing with formula is very common but reduces milk supply and can lead to even more supplementing. I think with proper support less mamas would feel the need to supplement
3. many mamas don't realize it can take a month or more to get the hang of breastfeeding and may give up before the month is over (without proper support)
4. postpartum mamas are sleep-deprived and often have a hard time remembering/focusing so they especially need hands on support (in addition to spoken advice) This support should be easily accessible/readily available and offered to ALL mamas. I'm sure there are many mamas out there that have not received help because they didn't know who to ask, didn't think to ask or were simply to busy to ask

More Milk please! I agree with Ingrid's post, except for one thing: it can take even longer than a month to get the hang of breastfeeding! It is hard work and it took me 6 months to get to where I actually liked it. Probably about 3 months before I could really manage the pain. I am very thankful that I hung in and didn't go the formula route but I had help- a GREAT lactation nurse who saved me and a wonderful author who became my guiding light so to speak. Without them I probably would have. Though it makes me sad when I see mommies formula feeding I do not hold it against them at all- I completely understand how it happens there is SUCH a lack of support and awareness in our culture.

US mama's need all the support we can get-especially encouragement to continue in spite of bad days. Its the support of one another that helps us continue!

More Milk Please!

new mamas need the support of their friends and family to encourage them to stick it out and remind them on why they chose to breastfeed in the first place. Breastfeeding CAN be very isolating when your friends do not support you!

MORE MILK PLEASE!

Love milkmakers cookies and much more fun that all the other supplements I've tried! Postpartum moms need all the support they can get because birthing a baby is no small feat! And instead of relaxing and recovering, new moms immediately go into no-sleep mode while simultaneously sending their vitamin stores to the new baby! All worth it, but hard work!!! :)
